Rune Walter Ross

Rune Walter Ross
born March 8, 2011 at 8:09pm
5 lbs 9 oz
18 inches long

Rune came to us 4 weeks earlier than expected due to medical issues with me.
long story - short: either we keep him cooking inside of me with the possibility I have a stroke/seizure and possibly have a still-born baby, or we get this guy out today.
after a few ultrasounds and much deliberation between doctors,
they decided Rune was healthy enough to join us.
It was a VERY dramatic delivery for me (i'll spare details),
but the craziest part is that I went from being dialated to a 6, to having a baby in my arms
in 7 minutes.
(seriously not a joke)

Rob and I only got to hold him for maybe 30 seconds each and he was taken to the NICU.

Rune is having a hard time breathing on his own, and basically I have been told his lungs need "time".

its so hard to see my little guy with cords and tubes and crap coming out of everywhere, and not being able to hold him, but we are SO THANKFUL for the doctors and nurses who know how to help him.
he will be in there at least a week... but he will be in our arms- healthy and strong, soon enough.

Oh my goodness the NICU is so hard, but you guys are so strong and we will be keeping you guys in our prayers. Seriously if you ever need anything we are just down the street. He is a doll, and I am so glad he is o.k.

I know Amy already said it, but we pray for you guys. Also, we are only a minute or two from the hospital, and would love to help if you guys need anything. Even if it's an Arby's run.

Wow! All this stuff going on! He's absolutely BEAUTIFUL, Lindsay! Really perfect. I'm so sorry you're going through all of this -- you guys must all be exhausted. It sounds like things are going as they're supposed to now, though, thank goodness! It kind of sounds like a repeat of when YOU were born. Very scary. But just look at you now! Everything will go well. Congratulations to you and Rob -- darling little guys you have.
